Following on this topic, I mounted the Fulton's scope mount to my restored 1941 Long Branch and slapped on a cheap (well, all my money went on the scope mount, didn't it!) Tasco scope. I am now getting 1" groups at 100 yards (seated using a sandbag as a rest), and I am sure that the group size can be decreased with improved shooting skills on my part and some experimentation with a Hornady .312 bullet and a better scope. Range report at some time in the near future, along with a range report for a 1942 Long Branch with NZ-service markings, after I recover from a surgery (nothing serious, but it'll stop me shooting for about 2 months - wait a minute, that IS serious!!).
