We have never been able to figure this box out. Even some of the ammo specialists and collectors are scratching the bald spot over this one.

Second photo is off the shipping crate of Long Branch rifles.....including, breech cover, bayonet and scabbard and frogs. I'll try and get a better photo of the contents label, but just no way to get it right now.

Hi Peter - 3.5" x 5.5" x 40.5" external - cardboard with "tar" paper lining.

Warrens shed full of boxes reminds me of a little ex WD surplus shop along the road into Oxford here. They had a pile of old wood boxes ouitside including about 8 or so No4T chests, all in reasonably good order, described as 'handy carpenters tool boxes'. I think the price then was £8 each. Mind you, it was about 15 years ago. I suppose that there are some lucky carpenters in Oxford with tool boxes worth more than the contents of their tool kits!
Can anyone shed some light on the 33 round box of ammo ????
PS: fergs...the pictures were taken saturday am....No time machine used.
