Question on importing firearms from Canada.

To bring firearms in to the US from any other country you need an import license. You can obtain a license but it will take a lot of time, money and you better have an attorney real close by to interpret the license language. The State Department will also be involved. If it is only one firearm, than contact an importer as they have already done the paper work.

Yes & No, there are exceptions to every rule. I recently returned from being stationed in the UK and brought a number of rifles back with me. ATF import paperwork had to be filled out but once approved (and meeting certain restrictions), the rifles were shipped along with my other household goods. It was a smooth and uneventful process and didn't involve obtaining an import license.
I mention it in case any other service member is thinking about buying a piece and wondering how to get them back.

If you brought them back as acquired during a military assignment in a foreign country, it is much easier to do, I did that a couple of times back when I was in the service and PCSing from Germany. However!!!!! The form used for the military during a Permanent Change of Station is SIMILAR but not the same for a civilian here in the states wishing to import from another country. Nor is the procedure. I have also imported several rifles through a FFL here in WA State, but that fellow has unfortunately since died.

Try contacting Leroy's Big Valley Gun Works in Glasgow, Montana. IIRC they charge 100 for first gun then 25 bucks each additional one.

Possible, but figure on about $400.00 in assorted fees and about 6 months of paperwork.
