Bought a #4Mk I* Long Branch 1943 FTR'd in 1952 with cosmoline still in barrel for $75. Could have also had a #1 Mk III for same price. This was around 2000 when registry was going into effect. Still don't know why I passed. Was offered a Garand for $275 at Goble's in London at a later date. I was looking for a Ross. Must have been on stupid pills at the time. Had I bought the Garand I could have sold it and bought a REALLY nice Ross.

My friend was a Winchester Sales Rep and he offered me every new winchester model manufactured with serial number 9. Bought one at his cost and should have taken everyone he could get. It was a model 94 made for a movie with serial number MPX9, I sold it and made alot of money considering I only owned it one month.
Money was "tight" in those days.
