You're perfectly right, Joe W. the '44 M1 Garand is a real "piece of History" ...
Here I am with my third M1 Garand.
It is an Italian M1 Garand cal. .308" Win model T1 which came out from Terni Armory Arsenal.
There are few pieces of the T1 model : it has the original barrel 30-06S replaced with a barrel chambered in .308" Win and it is of the same exact lenght so it can share all the spare parts including stock, handguards and oprod with the 30-06S model.
After the T1 model, Italian Terni Arsenal made the T2 model which uses original 30-06S barrels which have been cut of about 12 mm. to adapt them to different caliber.
The T2 model needs a different stock, handguards and a shorter oprod.
Here is the list of the drawing numbers and heat numbers.
Since the rifle came out from an arsenal, it is very difficult to find all exact parts togheter.

I can finally stack arms
And where do you have my one?:dunno::lol:
Bizio, your op rod on this last rifle isn't a replacement part, it's an early op rod that was modified. Thus no revision number.
