Sedgley would heat the receivers on a burner in the back of the shop. Sometimes the receiver would get nearly soft. They had to turn over the barrel to get it to headspace right. I think your barrel may well be turned over. Look very closely into the chamber--do you see 2 extractor cuts on the rear of the barrel? Don't ever shoot it if this is the case. Actually has a little collector value.
