LE, where did you ship from? You can only ship firearms from a Customer Service Counter (hub), or have it picked up. The UPS Tariff says you can't ship from a packing store, although some will accept a firearm, knowing that they can jack up the price (as usual), & not have to pay if it is lost or damaged.

I asked my local usps about shipping firearms. They told me they only ship firearms back to the manufacturers for repairs. I personally don't think they like shipping firearms at my local usps.
I shipped a Rolex watch using Fred-Ex-pensive, it cost me over $100.00 and that was express, not next day! Their collectable insurance was a max coverage of $1000.00 which I more than used. I ended up purchasing an additional insurance from my homeowners. USPS will basically insure for whatever you list but good luck ever collecting on a claim. There is so much red tape on all carriers that you almost want to just say screw it!Quote:
