1891 Argintine Mauser carbine

Is the firing pin correctly numbered to the other parts? It could well be a replacement.

No numbers on bolt or firing pin that I can see.I did a bit of research last night and may have found the problem. After reading some post here and elswere and examineing the bolt closely it appears as though the cocking piece has dented the contact surface at the rear surfice of the bolt body to the point that the tip of the firing pin may protrude to far forward. New old stock bolt bodies are avaliable for about 30$ so I may try one. Opinions? Cautions?

Ok here are some photos of the patch plate and the doweled repairs of the Engineer carbine conversion reconversion? Still in a bit of a quandry. Should I engineer it,calvery it, or leave it?
Engineer may be difficult as I do not see any barrel bands or nose pieces around.Any thought on thee bolt/firing pin issue?

The patch plate doesn't look bad. Looks official as does the other repair. The lack of a nose piece may dictate what you can do with it.

Sorry I can't help with the firing pin. I haven't taken any of my Mauser bolts apart.

I am thinking leave it for now and perhaps keep an eye out for the conversion bits (if they come my way perhaps it was ment to be) but then I need a bayonet . Unless I get some other input on the fireing pin issue I think I will order one of the NOS bolts as they are cosmeticly superior to the scratched up unserialized one in the rifle and perhaps I will kill two birds with one bolt.
