Although I've never seen these tools I've made several from large screw drivers to push bents from the inside of powder flasks as well as scabbards. Works very well and I have no hesitation to modify for a specific shape. Of course, once you see the actual tool it does make perfect sense. Here on the US east coast they'd probably confused with a very large oyster knife!
To a leather worker who wanted to make new bayonet scabbards or repair (as Peter described) damaged originals by sewing and reinstalling or replacing mounts, it would be almost priceless.Quote:

For removing dents in metal scabbards it would be better to make something out of steel and temper it to keep it from bending when (lightly) hammering on the outside.
