this was about making up a new barrel for a brno mauser.
the dimensions of the chamber are critical. Because I have a choice and a decsision that must be made befor the barrel is made. once the barrel is made, its too late.
the barrel is the primary and key determination as to the accuracy of the gun.
even I know that much. I read enough books on bench rest shooting to know that.
Its about selecting the dimensions of the reamer that will cut the chamber, considerations include, but not limited to saami specs, resizing the brass after each firing (or not hopefully) as well as accuracy. Its a bolt gun not a class 3 weapon so tight rather than loose.
At this time Remington seems to be using an extremely tight chamber ream on their SPS rifles. They won't chamber just any ammo. Reloads won't always go in. You'd have to use a small base I think. Maybe this the way you want to go. That way if you aren't quite satisfied, you can always go up in size.
