While in the message editor, look at the bar of icons above the text area. Click on the https://www.milsurps.com/images/editor/insertimage.gif icon and a box will come up offering the opportunity to enter the URL of the pic. Type or copy it in and hit "Okay".

By the way, when you join this forum, you are set with a kind of rustic text editor. You can go to the USERCP, then the OPTIONS, and select a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor that might be easier to follow.
