Nice find!-I wonder; were the fingers at the sight on the handguard, front, seldom repaired once broken off, and just sawed off square? One of my SMLE's is just like the one pictured here; fingers removed. I read it was common practice during WWII and later to remove them.

I found some surplus stock disks. What is everyone's opinion on putting one into the stock? Would it be ruining it or adding to it?

Definitely replace it. Find an original screw too if possible.

i concur , it adds to the appearance and enjoyment in my humble opinion
