Over the last 25 plus years I've been building and servicing the AR platform I have found that Model 1 has been inferior and not within milspec specifications. If, IF, something has changed then great. First impressions are long lasting however.

I reckon it's cheap insurance for a transferrable Class III weapon. Otherwise, most of my bolts are either Colt or Knight's, Colt because I have had quite a few spares when that was about all that was out there and Knight's because that's what came with the rifles.
