5MD 1916 Lithgow

Cinders why so sad about the barrel? As I said in my earlier post, these were converted to H models during the 30's. Its a H model conversion some time after 4/37. But is your barrel matching?

You'll note the bolt on mine pictured is renumbered also. No big deal.

Yes 1 MD is Qld my home state.

Here's my 1916 MkIIIH mine has its original bolt (or so it appears, no PAA/batch number then)
40553 on the receiver & butt being the 2MD rack number & 42198 the rifle serial number.

The ? has come up a few times over the years bit afaik no one has come up with the answer.

I will have to dig it out again this week end truly you guys have no idea just how labour intensive it is to get to this safe queen due to the position of the safe good to see these are around perhaps we could have a section on the MD's just as a pic gallery me I only have the one but would be good to see all the Districts pictured.
