We Yoopers are proud of the name, even though we may not live there any more.
Charlie, nice to see you back on the forum. I've missed your comments and expertise.

Though I nearly died in the UP in 1985, you can't help but love it up there. Copper Harbor with nearby Laq Labelle Lake (sp?) having the Mendota canal to get out on to Le Bette Gris Bay (Again Sp?) in Lake Superior, and the Les Cheneaux Islands (pronounce: Less You Know) 36 islands on the north tip of lake huron, all have some of the best boating on the Great Lakes. Always loved hunting the two hearted river and the Seney range. I'm a troll, but say Yah to Dah Up! If that country was good enough for Hemingway, it'll do just fine for me.
I'm 4 hrs from Breevort lake, some of the best smallmouth fishing in the state IMO.
Been missing ya'll, but home improvements and some health issues had me overwhelmed.
IMHO this is the best of any group on the net.
I apologize for not returning many pm's and e-mails. Spent nearly a 2 full days trying to sift thru my email from not being active since late last year.
Cheers All,

P.S. I'm going to be a Grandpa!!!!!! :dancingbanana:

I just moved and haven't found my carbine books yet so I am going by memoory. But, based on the serial number and barrel date noted by Charlie (Painter 777) above I think your barrel is probably original to your receiver, and your Underwood operating slide may also be the original as I believe it is of the correct type. Everything else appears to be replacement parts. Others here may corect me if I am wrong but nobody else has commented so far. I will update if necessary when I find out which box my books are packed in. ChipS
Thanks for the help identifying the parts, so it appears to be all USGI parts.
What does "GR" stand for?
I have no idea, buttplate doesn't look new. Could it be for Grand Rapids?
