Personally, I just bash it over a hair for a minor correction and a bunch more hairs for a major adjustment. (This is when one really appreciates the thoughtfulness of the Lithgow folks drilling ear'oles exactly where needed.)

I took off the nose cap last night and moved the sight blade with a hammer and brass drift. Hopefully my calibrated machinist's eye moved it the proper amount. I also discovered that the nose cap was contacting the right side of the sight base so a few minutes with a file and now there's clearance.
