L42 at the range

Milsurps of a fashion I suppose but I'm currently working on my good lady wife to allow me to invest in a Willy's Jeep. Although admittedly negotiations aren't going well at the moment.

Had the same problem when I mentioned buying a 25 Pdr ......bit more appealing than a Garden gnome I thought but being a live firer it would take a hell of a storage cabinet.

I,ve looked at all kinds of Military vehicles, but for me it would have to be a Matchless or BSA bit more practical and still the fun factor but thats only when No4T's are selling like L42's then I think it will be time....... , although was very close to buying the Bren carrier on ebay not so long ago , which I see is back for sale but moved further south and gained an extra £3000 on the price.

Oh how I would love a Bren gun carrier, I fondly remember playing on the example at the Durham Light Infantry museum when I was a kid back in the 1970's..

i found it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. it wasn't milsurp but a 1975 chevy Blazer materialized in our driveway. I had introduced the kids to it first at the work parking lot, so they loved it and were super happy and enthusiastic when i brought it home first. this tempered the potential aggro.

1921 Lithgow MkIII with original Brl dated 1921 crisp rifling mirror .300.5 gauge will not enter muzzle new forewoods when do not know the weapon has not been fired by me at all (7 years) nor the previous owner who had it for 20+ years it has a numbered to the rifle Lithgow 1921 '07 bayonet and 1921 double stitch scabbard. The previous owner has just passed away and I will honor my pledge to him not to shoot it, when I cark it who cares if my son decides to use it I wont......
1945 Lithgow MkIII ~ have it Teak stocked at present (Have the original stock as well) has a 1945 OA '07 bayonet and OA scabbard 1945 (This is the sneaker rifle that got me Cindered)
2 x 1942 Savage No . 4's my workhorses standard spike bayonets for these with the S
1944 BSA Shirley No.4 "T" with early AK&S Ser - 16684 No.32 MkIII (Original to rifle) I put a cruciform on this even though it is not correct it is different. This rifle and scope are in the list of rifles page 48 of Peters book in the doweled pad trials when there was issues with the pads working loose.
And thats it for the 303's I started with just the 5MD1916 and they just kept growing and the bayonets the 07's grow on you as well...........sound familiar
