Barrel Band ?

Very Great Info Guys, My friend wants to restore his low S/N Rockola and showed me this. I told him the price is way to high, but it didn't seem to bother him. I think he has the Fever. After I show him this maybe he will come to his senses. I have no business or interest in a Type 1 BB. Just thought I ask for him and get some proof. Thanks for the Help and I'm glad I did as I learned that the T1 BB are the way they are it is and how it's built and the parts on it that matters and it's the T2 you got to watch out for people cutting a T3 to fake one. Thanks !

I agree. This guy offers a lot of repro junk dirtied to look old in bad photography. However, he did a really good job on this band if it is fake. Calling it a Rock-ola because of the weld marks pattern was a a bit too much. I think the humpers are getting too good. Neal Meyers said it very well a couple years ago, if I may paraphrase '...in ten years the fakes will be so common that nobody will be able to tell the difference'.

I think it's a real one. But, I haven't paid much attention to T1 bands because they are not good for shooting. They tend to disassemble the carbine under rapid fire.

I agree that if it is a repop it is good. As cool as the Type I bands are, I really like IIs and IIIs for accuracy. besides, how would I mount my Zombie sticking bayonet if I didn't have a Type III band?

Yes, the guy sells real parts along with fake parts. His prices are ridiculous though, even on parts that most collectors would consider everyday parts that are easily obtainable. I guess as far as this band is concerned, what are the odds of someone having a NOS Rock-ola type one band just lying around? Given the guy's clearly driven by greed, I doubt the word ethics is anything he really thinks about. It's almost like he models himself after George at Riverbank.

I normally judge e-bay sellers by their feed-back score and in this instance it is excellent over the last 12 months. If I was a gambling man I would probably say that this item is genuine but I don't think that I would like to take the chance that it may not be for the price being asked.
