what about the Pedersen rifle ????

I can still remember that I was taught that the first `assault rifle´ (`Sturmgewehr´) was invented by a Mexican, General Mondragón (1908). During WWI it was still being manufactured in Switzerland and was purchased by the Germans to arm aircraft.
