A piecemeal refurbishment of a serviceable rifle is at best a losing prospect. If it shoots and is as CMP sent it, I'd be tempted to leave it alone. It likely has no original era parts with it and you can't make it original again. Correcting it can cost thousands, specially with a rifle that had the knurled and serrated sight knobs, a flush nut sight is among the most expensive parts to buy. The locking bar sight would also be incorrect for this rifle so why change from one incorrect sight to another...
