Duck hunting on a full moon, no wind and relatively mild temperatures is a recipe for watching ducks fly at first light and then nothing. We knocked down 7, but boy was it slow. They just flew out to the Choptank River and stayed there. But that being said, a spectacular red sky at sunrise, great company and some lively banter in the blind made for a fantastic day! Now back to work and getting you some pictures and a Data sheet.

We found that the wear patterns confirmed that a somewhat unique Rock-ola dog leg Hammer is the only hammer ever to reside in the lower trigger group housing. Some one offered me an appropriate NPM hammer and 26 coil spring. Thank goodness that just didn't feel right to me and another member steered me clear of that request!

1955104 This is the S/N for my NPM M1. This places the rifle in the Second Production Block in the early fall of 1943. Is it safe to assume the piece was manufactured in mid to late September of '43? I'm guessing that it's about 17,000+ guns into the run.

Okay, so what scumbag member offered you another NPM hammer and spring for your RMC dogleg? What a guy! Btw, when you mentioned the RMC dogleg on another site my thought was there is no way a parts swapper or basic collector would have ever let that fall through the cracks and that it had to be original to your trigger housing. Things happen though, just be very glad this thing fell in your direction.

Ted...I would like to know who offered you this...I was there trying to help you...I didn't know someone tried to swap parts with you. You never mentioned that to me. That would of been a HORRIBLE trade.

I didn't read that he was offered a swap of parts. We might be jumping to conclusions on that point.

If you have any housing with a single dogleg hammer mark, then I'd stay with that hammer.

I read where Rock-Ola sent 10,000 hammers to NPM 9-13-1943

One thing did catch my eye, the milled rear sight. I don't know if I have ever seen what I thought was an original NPM with an adj rear sight.

I went by the word offered, which implies an offer to trade or perhaps a cash sale. Maybe the only jump to conclusions would be in it being a site member, but knowing how PM's are exchanged on sites like this and others when someone finds out what you have, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Still, there's more good people than bad in this field, it's knowing which way that person's ethics sway is the trick.

Ted...You can take a picture of it like the one you did and resize it and post it....There is others way to do it. There's a thread here you can view about posting and get some ideas like that also. Happy Shooting

Has a photo of the hammer been posted? It's probably real, but we'd like to see pics you have of it anyway.
