You could solve your conundrum another way and do away with a mounting plate.....
.....However, it is not necessarily a cheaper option as it involves purchasing a long Lee so you can mount the sight directly to the rifle 😀
I've recently acquired one that I've fitted to mine and it looks a treat, it's an early one too and fits in really well with the lines of the rifle.... Just a thought anyway!

The Long rifle brackets seem to turn up more often, but Short rifle ones do come along, I got this one some years ago and made a screw to hold it all together.
This sight doesn't have the clicking adjustment.

Hayboy... I'd love to see a picture of your long Lee with the sight mounted without a plate. Wish I could do that with a No.1 MkIII.
I just realized that if and when I finally find a plate, screws for mounting may end up being the next issue.
Thanks guys for the help...

There is a guy in the USA that makes the longer screws for the SMLE. I had to purchase a set. No option really unless you are lucky enough to find a base plate with the screws in good condition.
I'll find his contact details and post them.

Mick (post 10) the sight base that I cannot identify which rifle it's for was made by AG Parker, it is clearly stamped.
Just no clue what rifle it would fit. It was suggested Martini, but I could not find anything similar on that line.
