Yes - the BA is 19mm set up for the BA rings you have whereas the BB is 17mm. You have a very nice set of RALS.4 rings so the best bet is to change the bases. Would be your least expensive option. Ron
PS I see the number 20 stamped on the rear of the front base and 21 on the rear.....definitely for early 17mm base rings. I've got both so if you need a measurement let me know.

I have seen these NO21 marked mounts before which are smaller than the standard 20mm base. A couple ways to go from here, IMHO I would suggest purchasing a Fultons Steel No4 scope mount which can be fitted with no gunsmithing, as ANY weaver type ring can be used to suit any scope required.
Not sure what you intend for this rifle from your post, but this is one line of resolution and sell what you have.
Guys, this rifle is an official sniper rifle. I will not change bases just to use the scope rings I currently have at hand. You wouldn't suggest removing the pads of a No. 4 T just because I have a wrong bracket for it, would you?
So I now understood that there are TWO sizes of PH mounts, one being the smaller one which appears to be my type of mount. rgg_7, is there any chance you'd part with your scope rings to help me get my rifle complete again? I'd be willing to buy them or put them in a trade for my scope rings, whatever sounds better to you.
Official sniper rifle Promo........ What sort of 'official' is that? To be REALLY honest, that front mount does not lend itself to be suitable for a sniper rifle for good technical and mechanical reasons. As for the rear rather ................, er............. flexible or articulating platform......... Not sniper rifle stuff in my opinion. Sorry to disagree but.............

Peter, I understand your point based on the fact that the mount might not be very rugged. On the other hand understand that official purchases might not always be based on throughout trials and comparison of various competitors. This particular rifle originates from a batch of approx. 30 rifles of which probably 50% were No. 4 T and the other half carrying the bases as shown (worth mentioning: among the rifles with the bases as shown are original reworked No. 4 T too). The particular rifle offered features the cheekpad and a scope number engraved on the butt stock, as you would find on a No. 4 T rifle. And adding on top of that, in the Faris collection there is a rifle 100% identical to this rifle which is with a matching numbers scope.

Just a point here, we are all here trying to help you on resolving your problem, with the best advice we can offer on the 4 images you have provided.
I can say that the 19 and 21 brackets were an early PH product and not many were made, so from that, several members have provided you with the right measurement details. Solutions have been offered, so its in your hands, armed with that information.
I appreciate sometimes it hurts when you buy a rifle, which had a scope fitted at sometime in its past, and you buy bits you assume fit, but it doesn't sadly make it a sniper rifle.

the information I had provided was just an answer to the suggestion to simply change the scope bases on the rifle. I had expressed that I do not want to modify this rifle and I am only looking to find the fitting scope rings to it. Being questioned why I consider the rifle to be a sniper, I gave answers to it. This was, I totally agree, not the original purpose of this thread - but after all at least it was discussed in public and all can see that the some might thought "easier" solution to change the scope bases is nothing I would consider.
rgg_7 seemed to have the answer what I was looking for, he identified them as different bases than originally thought, and from what I had understood they are "BB21" scope bases. The correct designation of the scope rings fitting to my rings are still unclear, but I had hoped to get this answer, if not even a possibility to make a deal with rgg_7.
If it helps for all others interest I have attached all pictures of this rifle which has a very interesting story and is why I only want to re-equip it with a scope, but do not touch a single screw on it.

No worries, could you put up some close ups of the ejection side when you get a minute, be interested as the front mount is definitely a PH 19 and I wanted to see if other marks were on the metalwork to track down when PH may have supplied them to H&H or whoever?
I will do those pictures and also place a caliper in these pictures to make it 100% clear what it is. Knowing the origin of this (or also these) rifles I completely doubt that H&H or whoever company in the UK had them mounted.
