Any interest in Paper Model of Pedersen Device_

Thanks for the help BAR, and you can see what it is from these. No instructions have been generated yet and I still have to build and correct the model from this prototype which is sure to contain some errors and need for improvement. When installing in the actual rifle, use a dime to hold the mag follower down as it interfeers with the bolt body. That is the only thing to do to the rifle to install. Do not try to build this from these as it will confuse you no end with the lack of parts numbering and instructions. Those will come. All of this was modeled by scaling from pictures of the actual part. Scale might be a bit off in some areas but the overall look when installed does illustrate what the rilfe might have looked like in the hands of a Doughboy charging the Huns which IMHO would have been a disaster. For those with a mag pouch, you would need to print 5 copies of page 3. As a note, I have over the years modeled more then a hundred WWII munitions such as mortar rounds, grenades, mortors, bombs and similar items 1 to 1 as paper models. Reenactors use them to stage their display, and at a distance, they look quite like the real thing. I do not sell them but rather give them away online. See attachment to this post.

Yes.......I think I would be interested, too. I have an all correct MkI rifle, a 1920 dated Cartridge belt and a Pedersen Magazine pouch. I was going to cut pieces off wood and paint them black to simulate
magazines in the pouch. I suppose I could paste your mag images to the wood. I think this is a great way to be able to display our MKI rifles and show what the device looked like and with it installed in the rifle. WWI is now 100 years in the past and many people have no idea such a device was ever developed.

Working on a 3d printed version but that will take a lot of time as no use doing it if I cannot scan an original device, which will be hard to do. Even then it will take a long time to convert and design for printing. I presently do not have access to the pedersen device, a scanner and a printer. I do have the software for designing 3d objects. You cannot imagine the hours that go into a project like this. It is a love of art that drive us, but we have lives to live and mine is coming near end at the age of 68. This paper version is accessible and cheap. Even then building 3d models from paper is not easy until you have done it a bit, so anyone trying should print several sheets and plan on destroying most of them in the learning process. I will label this as a free model so you can take it to your local shop and get it printed without hassle. Laser color printing would be best, but ink jet, sprayed with a fix medium also gives a good end product. There are lots of web sites for paper modelers showing how it is done.
