Been worried about our buddy Frank, passed along a PM and he's asked that I share his reply with the board.
May I ask of those not worried of being hit by lightning to say a short prayer.
Regards
Charlie
"Hi Charlie, Sarah's typing I'm talking. This came out of the blue. I never saw it xoming, like when the horse kicked you I'm the chest. I thought I had a sprained ankle from the hike. There was no improvement so we went to the ER in Marshfield. They did an ultrasound and drew some fluid. A couple of hours later the labs came back and I was going into surgery to cut it open and "drain the swamp." Normal bacteria count in the ankle joint is 0 to 120. At that time mine was 198,000. They drained and scraped a lot of ugly junk and now they have to narrow it down to 1 of 800 bacteria strains. 28 days of IV's at home. Doctor says there's no way to conclude how this happened. Thank you for your concern and support. It means a lot to me. Please pass this on to the others. When I get to my home computer I plan on getting everyone up to speed. It's hard here in the hospital.
Best Regards.....Frank
Wishing you a speedy recovery Frank
Oh, wow. That's a curve ball. I bet they're on the home stretch to IDing the group it belongs to if they've eliminated that many others.
Charlie, Have you heard anymore on Frank? I lost his email address when I had a problem with my computer but have been wondering if he is still doing well in his recovery?
Yes I have,
Frank has had a set back.
I was waiting on his OK, before I replied to the board.
Charlie
Get well soon Frank!
Here's a copy and paste of messages I received back from our Stock Doctor/Surgeon:

Hi Charlie, I thought I would bring you up to date. It's been a rough go. Six days after the first surgery I was so much pain they did an MRI and it showed the infection had returned. I had a second emergency surgery at 8:00 PM that evening and I spent two days in the ICU. I am on a daily IV of antibiotics at our local hospital for 28 days. All the signs show that things are under control and the labs are coming back positive. I have a cast from my knee down and have orders for absolutely no activity until the end of June. This has been rough but I know there are people in tougher shape than me. I am very fortunate to have a great caretaker in Sarah. She has been a "ROCK" and keeps my spirits up.
I want to thank you for your concern and prayers, it means a lot!
Best Regards.....Frank

Hi Charlie, sorry that I have not gotten back to you or the Forum. I am O.K. at the PC for about ten minutes at a time. Then I have to elevate my foot again. It takes about a half hour before I feel some normalcy. I have a great team taking care of this from the surgeon to the infectious disease Dr. and the nurse staff that does my daily antibiotic IV. I feel confident in them. My labs have been coming back showing steady improvement. I have been feeling better this week. You are so right not having to deal with this alone. Sarah has been a rock through this, not only taking care of me but running our business, our home, our dogs and everything else. Please share this with the members on the forum for me. I get to look at the Forum but mostly on the car ride to the hospital on my phone.
Thanks for sharing the story about Harlan. He was a great guy. I miss him also.
