Holy damn they are chasing some money for deactivated pieces, and a ww1 No4T? I wonder they never gave one to Billy Sing?

Also on a slightly unrelated note. I met a fellow the other week who showed me some deactivated units he had: One was a MkI Sht Le. Needless to say it broke my heart that it was inoperable.

I suppose its understandable to deactivate it as a wall hanger if the piece is totally serviceable, worn out barrel and action stretched etc. But it would be better (as a rare type) to be kept intact as part of a collection or in a museum ... that said, few museums anywhere keep live firearms these days, most are deactivated due to the security requirements of today.

Real Gun are the same people as D&B whom I’ve always found decent to deal with in the past (pre latest EU laws) so a surprise to see them using such descriptions.......

I guess we shouldn't pre-judge the situation. They may have bought a collection in good faith........

Thats the way John, "part of a collection" Its a very easy process in the UK to get a collectors slot, I couldn't believe how easy it was when I put in for a Section 7.1 Webley.455, In fact have just put in another Section 7.1 (Colt New Service Revolver .455) although paid the deposit before Christmas have been waiting for another .22 to fill a slot on the FAC, so could stick the paperwork in.

My Sniper rifles and most of the .22 trainers are all on Collectors slots, just saving now for a Colt 1911 .455........

Sounds like a good plan Geoff, I saw a close to mint private purchase .455 1911 a few years back, absolutely superb.

But very expensive!
