I believe that I am correct in stating that only the military version of the triangular toolbox had the document holder on the inside of the cover. My understanding is that the civilian version did not have this document holder and I assume that it was just somewhere to keep the bike's service/maintenance record etc. From memory the document holder was just of a simple folded steel construction welded to the inside of the toolbox's cover. However, it was more than 30 years ago that I last saw it.
