The Precistas were pretty reliable but there were only a couple of contracts with them due to being a tad more expensive. The CWC's were said to be waterproof - in that they let the water IN but wouldn't let it OUT again. You've GOT to replace the back and battery trap seal EVERY time
I've recently read that DS Solutions is offering reproductions of the L42A1 transit chest, as well as the plastic bottle.
This is all I could find on their site: Reproduction, Metal Hardware Set for Chest No15 Mk1 (No4(T) Sniper Rifle)
It was a picture of their booth at a militaria show. They had for sale the items I had mentioned. Maybe give them a call - not sure why not on the website?
yep they were on the DS Solutions stall at the Odyssey show, (as well as reproduction No8 tins Mk1 (square edge) and Mk2 (canvas)
John dose not list all his stock on the website if there is limited quantity or one-off's as the website would need constant updating. best to drop him an email with your wish list.

this will be the photo Promo was on about, some reproductions but original No4 rifle slips, scout scope tripod, and L96/l115 scope carry case, and knee patches
Nice, can you remember how much the scope carry cases were?
Is that repro L42 transit £275!? Who can I talk to about buying that?
