I agree with you there Sunray!
A scope on a carbine looks like the wart on the lunchroom lady's nose. Even with my old eyes I can hit targets in the effective range using original open sights.

The scope mounts are just fun to screw around with. The only one I've found that makes sense on a carbine is the Ultimak (also sold by Fulton Armory). No modifications to rifle at all. With a scout scope or an Aimpoint it works great. Photo shows a Standard Products with Ultimak Mount and Leupold 2.5-28mm Scout Scope, and a Winchester with Ultimak Mount and Aimpoint Micro. I expect that after I have my cataract surgery in April I will enjoy shooting with open sights again.

The only GI scope mount for a Carbine is the IR snooper /Scope mount bracket . Sans a T3 or T4 Also 3/4 weaver rings can be adapted to this bracket/ mount A 330 Weaver or 73B1 makes a impressive Carbine sniper . Then add a M3 Flash hider
