I wouldn't want to own a rifle with whatever kind of repair this one needs.
Back to the task at hand...I just pulled the barrel off. It's cut just after the RA/Bomb/month-year, so just behind where the front sight milling was. The crown is nice and clean. Whoever did the work did it well at least. The rifling is bright and sharp. Threads are clean and...blued. Chamber needs a little polishing but otherwise after the rust on it's underside is cleaned off, it could likely serve someone's sporter project. I don't see myself ever building a sporter.
parts are all on their way. While I wait, I'll clean the barrel up, put the camera in it, and maybe post it in the WTS for a steal. For many parts, I'm using a mix of everything I have on hand left over from my other bring-back-to-life projects. It's gonna be a real queen, and a great shooter.
