That's interesting. I'm guessing the immigration people misspelled "Sergei" and it was easier to leave it as is? "Zuke" could well be a contraction of what was his full surname: "Zukevitch" or something like that.

He was lucky his parents escaped when they did.

My Dad finished up with the 11th Airborne on the other side of the World in Japan. He was in Japan before the paper work was signed.
