That could be a possibility as here are no wear marks inside the crate from something like a bayonet.
Strange to store ammo with the rifles though.

I have never seen one of these before. It would be great if some enterprising individual could produce a drawing from which reproductions could be made. (hint, hint). :)

You have to look at possibilities that make sense and storing two boxes of ammo in there doesn't.
