Speaking of modelling, I only recently learned that WWII German tank crews were issued models to build for recognition purposes. The models were built by a wooden toy company called Haba located in Bad Rodach and apparently still produce wooden toys to this day. Good condition Haba tank models are apparently selling for over $3,000!

I'm thinking that you don't watch a lot of tv do you.. LOL

Wow never knew that about German tankers allot better than a paper ID booklet this goes into your head and sticks no fumbling pages !

How about building a version of the Coldstream Guards captured Panther tank named "Cuckoo"? That would be unique in the modelling world I would think.

2 guide horns down 346 to go 1/35th Meng Panther tracks 87 grousers/side gotta love tracks & interleaved wheel system!:ugh:
But WWII German cat's I like so I put up with it, the kit so far has been pretty good :cheers: periscopes were a very tight fit though.

Having a break from the tracks only completed 38 of 174 required for the model so decided to paint the rubber on the road wheels for something different.
It's best to swap around otherwise the task gets very tedious but I am tossing up whether to get a metal set of tracks but they cost around $35/Euro's + postage so as much as the model itself.

Still got the camo on still lots to do tools, exhausts, side skirts, tracks !, decals, weathering & sealing with matt varnish.

Think I am going to have a go at the 40cm Morser Gerat next it is a huge kit even in 1/35th scale or my 1/16th scale Trumpeter Panther we will see.

Working on some 1/16 scale King Tiger wheels myself. I work so much slower that you do CINDERS. LOL To many projects.

CINDERS Thank you for your offer. I'm doing a Trumpeter 1/16 King Tiger. Using David Parkers book also. Time, LOL, I'm a project jumper. Work on one thing then another, hopping all around. LOL I've been working on this KT for years now. I'll try to work on this one with other projects for a while. I just had a 1923 T-Bucker shipped in. I'll be driving it later today.

MENG 1/35th Panther slowly moving with this one, the elephant in the room is the tracks I'll just have to face it and persevere with them.
Pretty happy how the cammo turned out got the decals to go, tools, spare track then weathering, think I'll put the side skirts on this one if they are removable!
One thing I did do was made the barrel travel rest moveable as they had you gluing it flat !
Also another thing this model looks smaller than my Tamiya 1/35th scale panther I did.
I'll pic them together later on, maybe MENG have a different ruler!:confused:
