The Loyal Eddies went overseas with Mk.II Ross rifles.
I have a relic Mk.2 bayonet dug up at the site of one of their first battles
I has been confirmed by their unit historian that they hit the line with the Mk.2 and it was a while before they got the Mk.3 and later the SMLE.
I have both Mk.2 and Mk.3 relic bayonets dug up at their battle sites.

Just acquired the remains of a Mk.II marked on the butt 42 CEF and L.C. on the receiver ring. Previously issued to Canadian Garrison Artillery. 6-15 mark presumably indicates when issued to the 42nd who embarked that same month for the U.K.
Haven't seen L.C. on the receiver before.
