Got my copy of War Baby III today and it is better than I expected called Mr. Ruth and tried to convince him to raise the price, $149.00 is way to cheap for the information in the book. I suggested a msrp of $500.00 even at that price it would be a bargain!
That has nothing to do with the books value! His effort is worth more than the asking price. He put years of reseach into a project that warrants more monetary gain than he will receive.
War Baby M1 Carbine NEW Vol 3 Rifle Military Complete History $129.95 on EBay. I forget how to do the link but this is the item number 151019290863
The best price I could find online for this book last week when I ordered a copy on Amazon was $149.99 shipped.
Yes Bob, I have one. Many carbine guys have been waiting a long time for this to come out. I'm not disappointed, I like it a lot. Just a note. It wouldn't be my first War Baby book if I was just starting out. After the table of contents it continues the WB series starting at page 849 and goes to page 1757. If you have the first two, I would say it is a must have book. In my opinion, the War Baby series, is the best out there on the M1 Carbine.
Over 900 pages would be the reason for the price. To me, it is well worth the cost. A few errors, sure. To be expected with all books.
I got mine off ebay. $129.95 with $6.52 shipping. Two day delivery from time of order. Well packed. I have ordered from this seller before with the same service.
War Baby M1 Carbine New Vol 3 Rifle Military Complete History Huge Gun Book | eBay
$6.52 for shipping vs. $35 just for gas (round trip) to the gunshow. Of course I'm going to go to the gunshow! Thanks, Jim. You meant 300 pages though, right? - Bob
No Bob, that was a typo on my part. It is 849 and goes to page 1757, not 1157. Over 900 pages.
For me $6.52 shipping is less then tax of $11.37 at our 8.75% rate if bought local. Not that five bucks matters either way.
I picked my copy at a Portland gunshow yesterday for $120 - can't wait to dig into it. - Bob
