I am a new member but a long time collector. I am a disabled vet and typing has to be done on the on screen keyboard a mouse pointer hunt and click exercise so I don't often comment. I do shoot from a bench with friends who are nice enough to run targets.

Hello all. I really like the milsurp guns. I like the sporterized guns as practical hunting tools . I had a M1917(Remington 9-18)that I just found too long & heavy & I couldn't stand to see it getting any more dinged up. Bought it at a gun auction about 20 yrs ago for $90 and sold it last fall for $300. It still was in very good - excellent cond. I currently have a sporterized SMLE that was handed down and nobody else wanted. I want to update to an ATI stock & scope mount hoping the stock will take the sting out of it and I just can't see the open sights any more. Nice talking to you.

Hi to all:
I'm new to this forum, but not to guns. My fgirst military weapon was a metric-calber Remington roling blockl single shot acquired as a high-school freshman through the US Mail for $14.95, plus shipping. (Now those were good old days!) My firt mil. sidearm was a Swedish contract FN Browning semi-auto in cal. 9x17mm (380ACP) Price, w/2 mags and issue pigshin holster: $19.95! Still good old days.
A lot of stuff has come and gone since then, but I still have those two.
Mostly into military rifles now. Have M1's, Springfield, Mausers.

I'm a newbie with with three m1 Garands. Probably not as exotic as some firearms out there but I like them. 1 early receiver 25,XXX that is a mixmaster, one early '45 correct thatI suspect is a restoration, and my shooter 750,XXX.

I am a new member at this forum. I have been collecting military firearms since the early seventies. Your info on the Ross Rifle, one of which I have, attracted me to the forum.
Thanks
