New member introductions thread ......

Hi all. I am also a new member and I enjoy reading all the posts here. Will probably have a few questions. I have been hunting and shooting for decades and have had my fair share of military rifles in the past. I am now sorry i let most of them go. I am also guilty of bubbafying some of those guns when they were cheap to buy. Gone are the days of thirty dollar Swedish Mausers and Mosin-Nagants for around 25 bucks..
Right now my passion is Lee-enfield rifles. Just picked up a genuine No.5 and i have a few No.4`s and a couple of no.1`s. All but one are sporterized. But three are FTR`d and one receiver looks brand new. That`s all for now.

New guy here - just found this forum. I've been collecting / shooting milsurps for just over a year now and am fortunate to have my two sons involved. We have Russian and YUGO SKS's, over a dozen Mosins of various types including two just restored 91/30 ex-PU snipers, a couple Enfields, Nagant revolvers, FEG pistols etc. It's a great hobby and sooooooo much less expensive than the car racing I've done for the past "too many" years!

I've had a carcano for years, and in the last two years I got into collecting USGI rifles.

It's a sickness! 8 M1's, 2 1903's, 2 carcanos, 1 k98k rc, and now a carbine on the way.

Well, we can all understand the addiction.

Hello everyone
I'm a newbie to collecting Military Surplus. I just got my first start with a Remington U.S. Model of 1917 and what looks to be in great condition. I also got in the same purchase a Swedish Husqvarna Vapenfabriks AB which I think is a 9mm and a Hi-standard model B .22. The last item in the purchase is a barrel with the bolt from a No. 4 MK1. I would like to restore the MK1 so any help on where to begin and where to get parts would be appreciated.
I'l try and get some pictures posted in the next few days.

Howdy everyone, just found this site. I'm an Alaska guy, shoot alot when the weather is good....reload and mail-order stuff in the winter. 1st rifle was a "sporterized" SMLE, around 1964 (I was 14) mail ordered for 19.95. Painted light green (not parkerized)Had sand all over the insides. I imagined Africa or South Pacific....probably just a real dirty old gun. Lee Loader and handcast bullets, #311332, not big enough for the bore. Took a long time to figure that one out...no internet, hard to find information back then. Some fun though!!! Still at it.

I've always been interested in military firearms. I was born in '39 and completely immersed in the "WAR" as a kid whose father was in the Pacific. I spent most of my time reading everything I could about small arms and destructive devices.

Then, I discovered you could buy them and take them home with you and the addiction really set in. I withstood the powerful forces marriage, family, and business to set aside time to play with my guns

Now I'm old and running out of rope, but still drawn to milsurps. This board has some extremely well informed individuals and lots of toys to play with. Just trying to keep the fever going a while longer. Bill.
