Hello All! I am the Collector and have been collecting since my father in law gave me a pocket pistol he got from a dead soldier in WWII. It was a CZ26, .380 . By the time I finished ordering some newer parts from Numrich was hooked. Here I am 15 years later! I look forward to our cabbitizin! Collector
Hi to all, I have been an avid milsurp collector for about 40 years now and still can't get enough.
Really enjoy the mail especially about M1 Carbines
Hello,
I just found out about this website today. My father owned a Military Surplus store in Phoenix, AZ for about 15 years so I have always really liked and been around military surplus. I recently obtained quite a collection of surplus stuff so I'll probably be asking a few questions about some of the stuff I have. It's a pleasure to be a part of this forum.
Thanks,
Richard
Hello
I'm new to milsurps collecting and shooting. I just like learning all I can about these firearms.
....I'm new here, and I am looking forward to my 2nd purchase of an M1 Carbine. I had one many years ago, a Universal, and the bolt came apart and I got rid of it. Regretted it ever since. I now understand so much more. The plan is to learn all I can before going to the CMP at Camp Perry to buy one in the spring! Long time member of the NRA, and new member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. Thanks for providing such a wealth of information to educate those who need it.
Looking for info on: 1918 Enfield Single Shot Target Rifle w/ Brass & Walnut Palm Rest? Also any knowledge of Long Branch producing a proto-type or experiment "jungle carbine" using No.4 Mrk-1 prior to production of the No.5 "jungle carbines"?
Hello All,
New here - Been collecting GEW 88's / but now I'm getting into

Hello,
New member, looking to learn and share what I can. I mainly shoot modern precison rifle and practical pistol, but I have a few older rifles and am always intrigued by interesting weapons.
I have been interested in all types of Military Firearms, for a lot of years, and " Good " to be here.
A great Forum and a Wealth of Information !!
:wave::wave:Hi,
I am a frequent reader of forums and occaisional poster on some. I am new to this one. I come here to read up on shooting Swiss K-31 rifles. I bought two when they were a 100 bucks each. one shot well and I compete in vintage matches with it. The other had a warped stock which made it walk across the target. I relieved so much wood to fix the binding that I wound up glass bedding it. It holds zero now but cant be used to compete with. I have competed in service riflle for almost 20 yrs. and really enjoy M1 matches and have more than one of those fine rifles. (you can't just have one they tend to multiply) so Hi again hope to post more often.

Hello,
New member, first post. I have been collecting for just a few years, but have been actively shooting for about 20 years. I mainly collect, American WW2 era rifle's, along with Finnish Mosin Nagant's.
Hello to everyone, new guy here. Like collecting mainly US arms.
Hello, It all started with cowboys and war movies from the 50's . I grew up with these kind of films. Also ,I am mechanical gifted. So, the way firearms are made and how they work ,just fascinated me. Anyway,my mother bought me my first rifle when i was 12 years old. It was in a Phila. pawn shop. A Carcano now hung on my bedroom wall. Anyway, longuns became my game. Next ,i bought a German mauser from a kid down the street for 10 bucks. Then ,i got a mossberg 22 for my barmitzfa ,and the seed was planted. I was drafted into the ARMY IN 1965 and was stationed at Walter Reed in D.C. I purchaed more guns in Vir. at patomeic arms and Sears and mail order. I got crazy & bought a gun shop in 1987 and my collecting was in high gear. I then became an advanced collector. I had a safe full of millitary handguns and wanted every model Mauser ever made. Anyway the rest of the story you can read in my book, I sold the gun shop in 1999 because i got shot through my back in a armed robery in 1998.Now I,m 66 and kind of retired but looking for a job in a local gun shop. That's my story.Thank's for reading. God Bless.
Hello to all, sorry Badger for not checking in sooner. I did not see you had a spell check on the message board till today. I'm a bad speller and typist. This is also my first time for participating on any form of message board. So please everyone let me know if I am doing anything wrong. I am a life member of the NRA and belong to Michigan Antique Collectors and O.G.C.A. My problem, as my wife call my collection, started about 20 years ago with one old beat up Enfield and it just went down hill from there. Before I knew it I had 20 of those dam things, and then it went from bad to worse. The Mausers came next then the Arisakas and U.S. WWII stuff. I thought I could stop after I found my Johnson but nooooo, then the snipers started Oh God help me stop! If there is anyone else out there who wants to start AA type program for this problem please let me know.
My dad gave me my first rifle in 1950. It was an old model 82 cooey 22 and my core training all in the same breath. "You might as well have this" says he and with a stern look, these words,"don't shoot towards town!". Rifle and core training delivered. Even at my tender age I recognized the seriousness of this rite of passage and never let him down.
I used rifles a lot over the ensuing years and finally took up black powder front stuffers and cartridge. Then a couple of years back I ran across a 303 Enfield and tried it out. Love at first shot. I have about 10 of them now in the various models. One day I was wandering around in a gunstore and saw this long, lean, so ugly it was beautiful rifle with a 20 odd inch screwdriver on the end of it. A 91-30 Mosin Nagant which I bought because it reminded me of my Kentucky front stuffer. That was me, fried, stuffed and done to a turn. What a world of intesting Miitary shooters there are out there and what an amazing number of informed guys who love to share their information. You will have to put up with me while I try to catch up with some of you and maybe one day I will even be able to ask some serious questions. I have two of my 303 rifles shooting fairly well at this point but I am spending most of my time with the Mosin Nagant. They all shoot better than me but I can live with that. So that is the who and the why of it all, I'm glad to be here.

Good Day Everyone:
I have been a collector of Lee-Enfield rifles over 20 years. I have a collection of full military Enfield Savage, Longbranch. I find that alot of the British Enfields are harder to find in mint condition. But I keep looking.
NEW MEMBER wants to wish you and yours a very "MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR":wave::wave:
Also I have an M1 Grand with the words : Blue Sky/Arlington Va. on the front of the barrel. Does this inscription have any significance?
Thanks
Tom
I am a new member here, but I have a long time interest in milsurps. How I wish I had some of the guns I traded off long ago when I (temporarily) lost interest in them or wanted to buy something else. These forums are a valuable resource to learn about what you have and decide what else you may want while they are still available at good prices.

Thanks.

Hello, As indicated, I am a new member and live in west central Florida. I have been a collector of firearms both civilian and military up to the introduction of the 'black guns' in current popularity.
My joy comes from acquiring the 1800's through 1950's, doing a minimal amount of cosmetic cleaning, and then wondering what that particular weapon has seen in it's lifetime.
I once obtained an Arasaka 38 from a national importer that, upon cleaning, netted a good teaspoon of beach sand mixed with the cosmoline. I also have an 1878 Husqvarna model 17 damascus shotgun where the front sling loop screw was lost and then repaired with a horse shoe nail!
I am grateful for the internet for providing information in a flash that use to take months or more to acquire and I look forward to reading and contributing to this group whenever I can.
Hello all, I am retired and love old guns, especially military. Deacon 29
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I live in Central Pa, where i enjoy a number of shooting sports, IDPA, USPSA, 3-gun, cowboy, etc. Interested in Military Surplus both from a shooting and historical aspect.

Hello All, Native Minnesotan, displaced to Okinawa finishing up a career with Air Force Rescue, en-route back to MN to resume shooting hobbies. Big fan of .308 Ishapore Enfield/Scout rifle modification. Hope to add ruggedized peep sight without too major a modification. Hope not to offend purist Enfield fans. Simplified modification advice solicited, and inputs welcomed. Considering HK G3 rear sight adaptation to charger bridge, or AR/M-16A2 rear sight adaptation to same. Any advice appreciated... Thanks!
Hi everybody, new to list, and group. Trying hard to find M1 Garand, Hornady or another commercially produced ammunition for my Fulton Armory M1.
Any suggestions for commercially produced ammo suitable for M1 gas system pressures?
Hello to everyone in the group.
I was searching the web for a No 4 MK 1 bayonet (to purchase) when I found this site. I am a pretty serious bayonet collector.
Hi, I just started researching the history of a LSA Co 1917 SHTLE III and would like to know where to find a pic of what they looked like at time of production. It has been in the family for about 50 yrs and has been "Sportered". Still shoots right on the money.
Cheers
Terry
I am old (collecting since 1952), tired (retired in 1992), poor (married for 44 yrs.), but happy (three children and eight grandchildren)! I live in Ohio in the summer and Florida in the winter. I am interested in anything that smells like milsurp. I was fortunate enough to purchase a number of class III firearms before they became so expensive. My prized possession is a toss up between my M274A5 military mule with a mounted ANM2 .30 or a nice pair of AC M2Hbs. I enjoy shooting at Knob Creek (usually get there every other year). I am not the quickest arrow in the quiver, but I have an extensive library to refer to on many firearms and their accessories. I enjoy and collect anything that goes "boom".
Greetings all. Got around to signing up at last. Been collecting Victorian and early 20th century military firearms for close to thirty years. Main interest is early Lee Enfield rifles, always more to learn.
Daniel Boone, new member, been collecting several years.
I like to say hello to everyone. I am new to this as I just bought my first M1 Garand. Looking forward to talking and sharing info.
Hey All! New to gun collecting, just 1 year into it. Actually more of a recreational shooter than a collector. Thanks to rossme for the invite to join here!
Take Care!
Hi folks:
I am an American marooned in England. Started collecting in the good ole 50's when mil surplus weapons were so cheap it would make your eyes water today. Collected Jap, German, Polish, Russian. Brit and Italian rifles and machine guns. Because of laws over here all I can now shoot is my WW 1 Mausers and .22 rifles. Still have nice 4, 6, and 8" |Lugers with folks back in U.S.A.
Trying to find a good condition Navy mag to complete the Navy rig.
My son whom lives in the states loves to hunt and fish so between us we bought a AKS-47 and a SKS, both of which I love to shoot. Seems like ammo is far to high these days. Perhaps I'm living in the past. Protect your right to own and us those surplus weapons. I know first hand just how quickly your "government" can take this privilage away.

Hi Everyone,
I am an avid WWII collector and have been in the market for a few things and all searches led me to this web site. I am in the market for a 1941 Johnson.
Time for an introduction, I'm John, former LEO, Army Helicopter Crew Chief, Motorcycle shop owner, and current builder of flight simulators, right here in Pittsburgh, PA.
I'm not a collector in the true sense of the word, but more of a big fan of military weaponry. Nothing is like firing a M60 from a Huey or a kind WO1 or butter bar allowing a few trigger pulls on a Cobra's 20MM. Shooting is much nicer when Uncle Sam buys the ammo.
Other than a few handguns, I have a trio of 1903’s including 2 03A3’s, a Remington and a SC.
Very cool forum here, with a lot of information at your finger tips. It would take years of research to compile what is available here.
Thank you to everyone who post and contributes here.
Hello to All,

Hello, I am a new member. I have been collecting U.S. military weapons for over 25 years.
I have been a member for a while but never posted. Anyway I am a cruffler and will be renewing my C&R FFL soon so I'll have started on my 12-15 years period as a collector. I'm primarily interested in rifles to shoot cast bullets in. I kinda collect straight pulls, I have a Mannlicher 1886 and an 88/90 so far as exotic ones goes. I don't ever expect to be able to afford a Navy Lee nor a Mondragon but I'll get by in life as best I can. I also like broomhandles and metal in the middle French rifles like the MAS 36s and 49/56s.
Oh yes, i do have a Swiss 1911 as well as some K-31s and Mannlicher m1895s and M95/34s and one M95/24 (sadly stock was cut down!).
Larry Murray
PS:
Forgot to mention I do have a Ross 1910 that does shoot well although it's apparently one of those that was cut down for a Canadian paramilitary usage in WWII. I have a sporter Ross 1905 and also a drill purpose 1910. I fantasize about getting the 1910 DP rebarreled to 30-40 Krag but just a dream so far although I do have 250 30-40 cases.

Hello
Hello ALL!
I've been lurking here for awhile, and finally decided to get off my rear end and join. I'm Retired USAF (Security Police), which, I blame for my Black Rifle Disease problem.............
I've had a C&R since around 2003. I also have a severe case of BRD, which needless to say, makes my wallet hate me. I'm now having more fun with Mosin Nagants, Mausers, Carcano's and Enfields that I thought was humanly possible. Now I'm on a quest for an Arisaka and O3A3...... will this affliction ever end ? Merry Christmas gang!
Hello new member here, collecting, and shooting Japanese and British rifles of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Glad to be aboard.
Howdy from Texas. I'm a new member, don't know much, wantin to learn, have a few milsurps, don't get to use 'em much, but....
Hi folks! I'm a new mwmber, glad to be here. I'm interested in "milsurps" and I belive this site, this Forum is a good place where found answers and increase my know how in "milsurps". I take the opportunity to wish to you all to have a nice Season's Greetings ! :beerchug:
Hi all, new member, WW2 gun nut and equiptment collector, servied 11 years in USMC, now in the Army National Guard, scheduled for Afghanistan in May 2010. Good to meet you all.
Hello all, I've found a lot of good info on this site since I lucked out and got a Garand at an estate sale a few months back. It started out as a deal I couldn't pass up and now I can't stop researching for restoration tips, etc. Good to be here. :D

Hello All, Glenn Thomas here, Albany, GA interested in most all Milsurps - long and hand. Presently looking for P-14 barrel for restoration project.:banghead:
Been a silent part of this site for a couple years during which time I've gotten into reloading and have gotten some decent gear (getting my NM M1A scoped now). I am a computer dummie and am finally trying to overcome it and either help others or more likely get help and sound advice from others.
Hope I got this to work...

Hello Guys,
Just taking a minute to introduce myself. I am a member of the New Jersey Arms Collector Club. My collection centers around WWII Military Rifles from Germany, Japan, Russia and the US.
I am having some head spacing problems with my Type 38 Arisaka which I would like to discuss in the form.
Thanks for letting me join.
I have just joined. I have been interested in ( primarily military) firearms for several years. I won't say just how many years just now but my first G43 was around $50.00, first Luger was $35.00........ Some of my interests include arms of Finland, Russia, and those used in the SCW, Spanish Civil War.
Hi everyone!
Relatively new to firearms, not much of a collector (yet...). Found this site while researching a Jap rifle my grandfather brought back with him from WWII. Read through a few threads, followed a few links. Found out it's a Type 38 from the Nogoya Arsenal manufactured between 1923-1933. It has a Variation A bayonet from the Tokyo Arsenal. The cool thing is, I still have the approval/release paperwork.
Thanks for the great site!
-Matt
Read about this forum in The American Rifleman so I signed up ,the first rifle that I bought with my new C&R ffl was a Blue Sky M1 Garand ,I think it was 1989 or 90.
Hello All,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the list and let you know I look forward to learning quite a bit here. You fellows really seem to know your stuff. I've only been collecting for about 5 years now, but I did get my C&R. So, my gun safe is about full and my wallet is empty. My wife wants to know why I just can't collect stamps like normal people. I told her it was a "Gun Thing" and she wouldn't understand. Again, I look forward to the learning experience.

Hello all,
A quick intro from me. I am ex military Parachute Regiment and a militaria collector for 36 years.
I mainly collect Para Wings German insigna and bayonets but have been interested in weapon systems for ever....a long time (ex sniper L42)
Anyone out there who has items for sale or trade please contact me.
Found this site by accident "Argentine Marine FN" and the comments regarding British troops picking up and using Argy weapons in 82.
The answer is yes but never discarding their own SLR.
I was there and did exactly that at Goosegreen (Argy was full auto)

Hello all. I live in Eastern Ontario and was recently given a Lee-Enfield Mark 111 ( I believe). The stock has been "sporterized" but it still retains the original brass buttplate. Now that I have found this Forum I will be doing some research as to when and where it was made, etc. I am also interested in finding out about a cleaning kit that I purchased last summer at a yard sale, specifically a peculiar tool that is part of the kit. I will be posting more information on that and some photos in the near future.
The LE is my first military rifle, but I have four military handguns.
I am retired and hope to be able to check in and participate on this Forum quite often.
Along with a lifetime interest in guns and hunting I am collector of antique radios.
Bill
I am new here having never posted. I am interested in Mausers and vz24's. Also Vetterli's

Hey all, I'm known as M1Marksman on a few other forums. Been collecting mostly WW2 US militaria & weapons for 30+ years. Just found this site.:beerchug:
Hi I am Ralph from Circle Montana. I have been a mechanic for 35 years and enjoy shooting, reloading and hunting prairie dogs.
My name is Rich and I'm a new member and new collector. Saying "Hi" to all those lovers of the VZ-24! I have a Czech VZ-24 with Rampant lion, plain E lion 36 on side rail. It was rebarreled at some point as the barrel is stamped M95. It is in 8X57. Any ideas as to how these two got connected?
Hello, I'm a a new member. Retired Marine, fairly new in collecting. I have specific questions about USGI carbine OILERS; their specifications and manufacturer. I am working with a couple dozen various carbine oilers and noticed physical differences between them other than manufacturer markings. I would appreciate some guidence. Hello all...
I am currently researching my first Garand purchase and am looking forward to some input. I'm very on the fence as to which way to go. I am looking for a reliable shooter and therefore considering something like a Miltech or CMP rebuild but the collector in me thinks maybe a luck of the draw CMP Garand.
I have a couple of local opportunities; one for a 50's model H&R, lightly shot but often carried (based on the wood finish) and second, a decent looking "Aussie Garand" which the dealer claims is a rare rifle. After some research I am thinking that the Aussie is a more recently (80's?) manufactured receiver put together with a 1955 marked (and considerably more beat up barrel).
Maybe I will have to end up with 2 or more rifles to be satisfied, but where to start? Does anyone have any advice?
New to the board, just found it, also post in some Nagant sites and an SKS site. This looks like a great place to learn a few new things, as I am new to collecting after becoming a cruffler. Been around firearms my whole life, pistols, rifles, blackpowder, reloading, hunting (when younger), etc.
I am medically retired from combat wounds as a Major in the USAF, a recipient of the Purple Heart and 100% DAV/SS disabled. Married (again, the first one bailed after the disabilities), father of two, and live in Panama City, FL (originally from MS).

A friend showed me a bolt action rifle(Santa Fe Special, Santa Fe Arms, Pasadena, Calif., Golden State Arms Corp. No. 4 mk. He wondered what caliber it was. I had no idea so I'm trying to find out info on it. Very interesting site. Thanks for providing this great web site.
