Hello everyone,
My name is John but some people call me by my middle name, Mathias. I'm 30, from Pittsburgh, PA and attended gunsmiths school about ten years ago but was never able to finish. We worked on a lot of milsurps when I was in school and that's where I caught the bug. I only have one myself, a Hungarian Mosin Nagant M44. I thought the board looked interesting so I thought I'd introduce myself first. :beerchug:
New member here. Looking for a decent stock for my 38 carbine. My dad brought it home from New Guinea after WW2. I "sporterized" it when I was 14 to use as a deer rifle. I would like to put it back original.
Hello gentlemen, I am new to the site. I am somewhat of a gun collector. I enjoy many types of guns. Look foward to talking to you all.
Hi everyone. Rob here. I'm on CGN, and canadacarry.org. I have liked Lee Enfields for as long as I can remember seeing one. I liked them even more when I found out they originally had a full wood stock. I can't explain exactly why, but I do know almost any other milsurp I have seen didn't do it for me visually. the M1 carbine, and rifle being the exception.
I am looking at a couple MK4 No 1's, and will expand my collection to the MK1's later.
I am considering an expensive one on CGN, but I don't know if it's way overpriced or what. It is pristine, and rare for sure, but I don't know just what is out there, or what to look for. It is what I had hoped to find.
Any advice is appreciated. I just like the way they look. So far, I haven't shot one, but soon I hope to.
I am just recently getting back into fire arms. I shot .22 target about 22 years ago, and I have only shot a .30 06 on one occasion. No hand gun experience yet, but I have my RPAL.
Anyway, just saying hi. Cool site!
G'day all - collector of about 20 years - made the #1 collectors mistake of not specialising in any one particular area, or era - subsequently have a number of old bolt action service rifles from around the world starting from the mid 1880's.
Have worn alot of differing caps in my professional life, currently in marketing the shooting sports here in Australia.
Greetings from Newport News, Virginia.
I have been collecting & shooting Milsurps for over 35 years.
I am mostly interested in WW2 arms, from all participants.
Merle

New here and new to CGN too. My buba Enfiled is my only Milsurp, but it's likely just the first.
hi, new to this forum, but enjoy firearms and just recently received a copy of my great grandfather's release papers from the dnd in 1919, so now have a personal interest (more so than before) in milsurp.
btw, is there a list of canadian milsurp dealers?
thanx for the forum
