fake IP stock on epay

Personally I think ebay knew some bidders were getting contacted about auctions. And put the stop on it.

Not only carbine, but any auction where someone noticed something fishy and tried to warn the bidders.

If the auction didn't have a winning bidder, ebay wouldn't get their sellers commision. And sellers might get upset and try other venues.

Just my opinion. :dunno:

I have been involved in Civil War re-enacting and living Histories for awhile. EBAY is notorious for harboring Civil War artifact fakers also. While I haven't paid much attention lately, two years ago, it was epidemic. Definitely "Caveat emptor"!

yes, i looked at this one, so why do most if not all stocks added on ebay have crack,s etc? they really more jusnk than good

I agree you find a lot of beater stocks on Epay...but same with most of the auction sites.
I've bought some nice stocks from a few older ladies who were just selling off some of their deceased husbands collections. One of these ladies mainly sold nic knacks, china etc. The stock I bought from her came with a couple c tip slings, ammo pouches, a folding Kabar pocket knife and campaign ribbons. All but the stock was thrown in.
Later I bought the carbine her husband owned from her.
It's like any where else, you have to sift thru the items that didn't sell at the garage sales :-)
Before I had a stock pile of busted up stocks, I'd buy those cracked ones to use for patch wood.
I've sold a few stocks and parts on Ebay. I've been pretty lucky and have met and dealt with some great people. One was bidding on 3 different type of Hand Guards but only ended up winning one. He was a WWII P51 Ace. I sent along the other 2 HG's he was trying to win. Told him no charge, that I had a soft spot for VETS. He sent me a awesome artist rendition of him standing next to his plane. He flew in WWII, Korea then served as a forward observer in Vietnam. After getting out of the service he worked on the Shuttle for NASA. I hope to scan and post this picture first chance I get. Being almost 90, he was getting beat out by the snipe bidders.
