After seeing how much fun you guys were having, I thought I might try it. Being Artillery trained, I found that I could get the 25 Pounder and Ammunition Limber in easily, but the deuce and a half sticks out about halfway, and the gun crew drank all my beer. :)
Hey Buffdog, the drinking all your beer thing is an Artillery habit. My brother was in RCA and RCHA at different times and when he came to visit would do the same thing to me. In Gagetown he came over and we drank a 40oz of rye in the gun room then went out partying. Sound familiar?

I have never held it in my lap while watching a war movie but sometimes (like when I am watching a WW2 movie) think "did I really clean that Arisaka 99 after the last time I had it out to the range?". Or when I am reading one of the threads on this or other forums say about the Johnson semi-auto question if my codes are similar to one mentioned in the comment. In either case I find myself handling the weapon and checking the sight picture or adding a little linseed oil to the wood if it seems a little dry.
Anyway I can relate to what you are saying.
Do you ever just stick your head in the gun closet just to breath in the smell of gun oil. cosmoline. lindseed treated wood and aged leather all mixed together? Man I love that smell!
