It was hit by one of the water columns shot up by hollywood explosives. The water damaged one of the rotor blades sending the chopper down because it damaged the blade.

James Whitmore received a best supporting actor oscar nomination for 'Sgt. Kinnie'. I loved that 'Sgt. Kinnie' character. A pretty good movie.

My wifes Great Uncle was in the 1st Marine Div. Carried a carbine the whole time. I asked how he liked it and he said, "Liked it? I loved it, could shoot a birds eye out with that thing."

Well, I read it well enough to get the drift, but probably not well enough to pick up on the propaganda (I was 15-18).

By the way, Gunner, isn't "Landser" a generic term for a German infantryman? Maybe like our army's "Dogface" or "GI Joe" in WW2, and "Grunt" and "Ground Pounder" in later years.

Yes, Rangemaster the "Landser" is the term for an German infanteryman. This magazine is a good read and it is written in an style that makes you think you`re beside the soldiers. I read a lot of them and think they were good.
