it's closer, but it's not a kriegsmodell stock. but you're right, it is more appropriate looking

i did some research and the dou.45 had a "semi-kriegsmodell" stock. the factory mine is from never went to the full kriegsmodell version that didn't have the bolt takedown and stuff.

haha i was just getting ready to say that and post the same pic. great minds think alike. at least i got closer with that stock in appearance.

more important than how it looks is how it shoots. you'll have to give us the info when you fire it. :thup:

i was looking around on gunbroker and saw a mismatched "original kriegsmodell k98" that was going for $1299.99 starting bid... if that's the case is the guy who's selling it out of his mind?

what is my mismatch realistically worth?

i saw that rifle, the bnz 45. that's not the correct stock and he's very high on that price. especially if it's mismatched. his bnz 44 kriegsmodell is a nice one (maybe still a bit high on the price). his SWP45 is also overpriced

for a Russian Capture very late war rifle, $300-$400 is a good price so you paid a nice price

my feeling is, what's the point in knowing stuff if you can't teach others?:cool:

Ain't nothing fancy about removing shellac. Hang the stock over a bucket, get a soft scrub brush and plenty of rags. Dump out some denatured alcohol and get after it. The da will soften and literally just wash off the shellac. The rapid evaporating da will not saturate the stock.
