The polish has dye particles suspended in all the waxes, thinners and driers. As has been said, the trick will be to float them up to the surface. Heat and something equally penetrating like linseed oil would be my suggestions. You'll never get it back to bare wood, but at least the exercise will be, 'out with the bad, in with the good'.
