"Mobile" is how I've been operating during the week (00:30 to 06:00) for many months now. The dire warning in "Mobile" are new as of last night. Only on this site, too! (I visit fnforum.net and M14forum.com a bit when things are slow.) Oh, well. not blocked altogether, yet! This situation can't last too much longer, but I've thought that for a while, too...

Which if you click on the link "fix this problem yourself", displays the following message. (doesn't happen all the time, and merely hitting the "back" button a couple of times temporarily "fixes" the problem.):

The next to last paragraph seems the likely cause, I guess. Probably a recent update to the browser.

This is the first time in 5 years that I've ever seen our internal firewall threat analyzer light up like this ... :confused:
Besides what it told you and according to the key log, it appears that it thinks your IE6 Browser is now trying to ....... Request contained a malicious JavaScript or SQL injection attack. :help:
Anyway, I've contacted the developer who writes the protection software to see if there's anything we can do to help you around your IE6 dilemma.... will advise ... :thup:

No trouble, as I've asked before (not that there's hardly any supervision- one of the beauties of night shift!), but I reckon the IT division will get around to it one day. Probably have to replace a thousand or two computers first, though!
Update:
Got an E-mail last week from our product line manager saying he doesn't mind "surfing the internet" during breaktime just as long as the work station is left clean of litter.
THIS week the official answer to updating almost 1500 computers came out- Most will denied internet access! (Intra-net only). We have many older but vital programs that just aren't compatible w/ new IE platforms. Since outside access isn't vital for most of our work, it's easier to cut outside connection capabilities. Makes sense.
Don't know if there will be any easily accessible computers when the change takes place, so my presence here may be much less! Soooo...???

Maybe, but I'm trending the other way- thinking of dumping cable and doing w/o TV altogether. I started this internet stuff only because my employer forced an e-mail address on me!

(Cable got knocked out over a week ago during a storm and they haven't bother to fix it yet.)
As regards archaic, it's built into this industry due to regulatory and safety issues. Commercial pilots still can't fly the shortest distance between two points as their flight plans require compass headings, so no GPS navigation as a primary reference- probably not even a tertiary ref!
Regardless, I'm not in disagreement with the proposal to limit outside access except for the few that actually need it. Especially if it means no new "improved" programs. We've spent millions on new systems in the past, only to find they were worse than what we had or ended up fragile or some such. What we have works EXTREMELY well, likely better than any other on this hemisphere- Our continued worldwide success as a maintenance provider seems to prove it.
