I shot it the day I bought it and this past weekend. It is very smooth and accurate. I am very pleased with it. Is it ok to shoot it regularly or should I put it up? I'm not much for collecting. I'd much rather have a shooter. During spring and summer we shoot every Saturday/Sunday. I would love to put it in the rotation.Quote:

What case do you store and transport you M1 in? I've seen the 'US' WW2 era cases, but I didn't know if that was mainly novelty or what.
I was looking at this:

I use zipper cases. Here are about 30 I took off some guns to take the pictures. Some are mint, others worn, tabs have been replaced on a few that were missing, one has the front end extended. But all are WW2 vintage. Just seems the right thing to do. :D

My NPM is only 7000 rifles older than yours and has the same 6-43 underwood barrel as yours. my wood is replaced mostly newer parts and I haven't fired it yet. bought it through CMP for $500 and no regrets. Next to my Garands it's a tooth pic, and is my home defense rifle of choice. The bad guys wear t-shirts here in florida....HA,HA,HA! Nice pictures by the way.
