I have checked my M1 and as near as I can determnie it was annealed.

Im not surprised! :-) a bit earlier than mine though

It was mentioned no Winchesters. I have CMP Win 1304702 March 1943 that is annealed. I'm to lazy to look up when Guam was but just mentioning an annealed receiver, the only one of 16 I have.
