Thanks guys for all the help. I always thought these rifle's might of been sold with Enfield made 7.62 mags and mine was just replaced with a Sterling example. But, as stated above these rifle's were paired with Sterling made mags but not the Sterling ejector system? So I now assume that they were designed to be single loaders with the Sterling mag to make it pretty??

What you need to do now Lance is to get yourself a cheap old tatty Enfield 7.62 magazine.

Or, on the other hand, get C-O to make another 500 replica Enfield 7.62mm magazines. On the other hand, someone want to make a killing and do the same thing. It would be simplicity itself after the initial tooling costs. Two symetrical/identical sides. Spot rivetted to an internal strip, an easily shaped spacer at the front. The spring is simple ribbon spring, probably made by the yard. The platform is a cheap one-hit pressing. I'm suprised that noone else has done it yet. If It was me and not interested in authenticity but practicality, I'd base the 'new' magazine on the AI L96 A1 sniper rifle magazine. Flat, slab sided, plastic platform, reliable..........

I note that No7 parts are on the move as we speak as are complete L1A1 rifle sub calibre kits on another forum. Magazines by comparison are simple. Just me wandering thoughts. Shame I fell asleep during the production engineering phase at Uni

The ejector seems to work well if you give the bolt a smart pull. You need to polish the button as it drags on the bolt body and makes the bolt sticky as he** I still have kits as they came from Sterling as well as mags and the charger guide adapters.
