Yes, good point and another consideration which I pretty much have ignored, luckily without consequence to date. We have storage legalities, considerations for access, maintenance procedures, and protection from theft and natural disasters big and small. "A full case load". I have seen collectors with a more apparent facility for items of lessor value. How about insurance? In the US, the NRA provides some basic coverage for members. What are folks doing? I am happy to see this discussion on the preservation of our firearms heritage.Quote:

The NRA insurance is woefully inadiquate (as I dicovered to my dismay after having one stolen). The issure/secure/hide combined stratagy seems to make the most sence to me. I would love to construct somthing similar to the gun room in the video I posted. You could actually diaplay your firearms without having a nervious breakdown every time you left home. Hidden secured room ,thats the ticket.
The secured rack type storage is appealing due to its simplicity and economy of space.
