I use a combination of standard wood glue available from builder's merchants and "Super Glue" for stock repairs. I find that the Super Glue is good for deep tight cracks that can't easily be opened up because it penetrates deep into the crack as it is much thinner than wood glue. The Super Glue which I use is a pattern version which I purchase on-line and find far superior than the actual stuff.
